We recently read an intriguing article in the Practice Development News – a survey-based article provided a valuable examination about why small businesses are increasingly accessing their QuickBooks and other business applications via a cloud-hosted solution rather than hosting it in-house.

There are dozens of good reasons for moving your accounting and bookkeeping applications, like QuickBooks, onto “the cloud.”  Here then are the main reasons why businesses are opting for a hosted solution according to the survey:

* Ability to connect anytime, anywhere, with applications and data (48.1%)

* Ability to collaborate with team members and/or clients (21.6%)

* Ability to focus on business and not on technology (10.8%)

paperless bookkeeping accounting

* Benefit of knowing data is secure (3.6%)

* Benefit of 24×7 technical support (2.4%)

* Benefit of predictability in IT cost (1.2%)

In our own consulting work with small businesses using QuickBooks Hosting, We would have expected that the “ability to focus on business and not on technology” would have placed much higher in the survey. We constantly see small businesses struggling on a regular basis with the technology aspects (e.g., server, network, desktops, etc.).

We’ve seen businesses and clients who were litteraly on the verge of throwing their servers out the window.

Cloud-hosted QuickBooks bookkeeping and accounting is also a first major step towards the ‘paperless office’ of the 21st Century, and its GREEN.

At Catalyst QuickBooks we utilize a cutting-edge e-Dashboard that is secure and convenient and will help usher your small business into the 21st Century while saving you time and money. Read more about the Catalyst RealTime Bookkeeping e-Dashboard and SmartVault secure document sytem HERE.
